Dave is a screenwriter and playwright. His stage play Experience (Nick Darke Award runner-up) premiered at Hampstead Theatre Downstairs to a sell-out run, and he was commissioned to adapt it for screen. Embers stars Christian Cooke and Ruth Bradley, is produced by BAFTA winning Lorton Entertainment and BIFA nominated Mini Productions – and will be released later this year. Dave is a BBC New Talent Hotlister and was on attachment to BBC Drama Room. His comedy-drama Chosen was runner-up in the David Nobbs Memorial Award, and optioned by Hat Trick. Dave has developed work with Red Productions, Rollem, Doorway Films, BBC Studios and Tiger Aspect. He was longlisted for the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course and the Bruntwood Prize for Playwrighting, and his plays are published by Bloomsbury.
His play Somewhere Beneath It All, A Small Fire Burns Still won a Scotsman Fringe First Award, and his follow up play Hand Over Fist was nominated for an Edinburgh Stage Solo Award. His other plays include: Afterbirth (Arcola), A Serious Business (Pleasance/Luton Hat Factory), Hero/Heroine (Etc Theatre) and Shock Jock (BBC Radio 4). His short plays have been produced at Soho Theatre, Liverpool Everyman, and the Royal Court; and he has had work showcased at National Theatre Studio and the Criterion, West End. He is writer-in-residence at New Wave Theatre Company, and recipient of a Peggy Ramsay bursary.
