On finishing at the National Film & TV School, Stefan directed his debut feature film, romantic comedy/drama DEAD CAT. It won Best Emerging Director at the Oaxaca Film Festival, the Golden Lion at the British Independent Film Festival and was BAFTA long listed for Outstanding Debut.

His short film SEXLIFE premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and his comedy pilot GREAT EXPECTATIONS won the Test Pilot award at the Edinburgh TV Festival. He directed TV pilot DREAMS OF BETHANY MELLMOTH starring Lucy Boynton and Jack Lowdon for Hilary Bevan Jones at Endor Productions, written by William Boyd.

His award winning, neo-noir thriller THE DEAD ONES, written by Fred Armesto, which screened internationally at festivals has been released by Omeleto. Stefan then directed commissioned short poetic drama GUIDE ME HOME about loneliness in London winning awards in India, Italy and the UK.

He was a Screen International Star of Tomorrow and Edinburgh Film Festival Talent alumni where his sci-fi/thriller feature project BLOOM was selected for BFI funding. This is in development with Inceptive Films. He is currently attached to direct a bold adaptation of HAMLET for xFilm and Eclipse Films, psychological thriller RATTLE for About It Films and has written romantic comedy FOX, which he’s looking to direct in 2025.

He continues to produce and direct commercial, branded content, corporate and documentary films for global clients and the world’s largest companies. Having made films extensively for THE ECONOMIST he has been fortunate to tell important current affairs, international business, politics, technology and culture stories and film internationally across South and North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
