Amy is a screenwriter from West Cork, Ireland. She completed her Master’s in Scriptwriting at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2018 before writing her debut short film, Sequins, which follows an ambitious teenager in 1990s Blackpool with dreams of becoming a drag queen.

Sequins was funded by the Genera Film Fund and the Stefan Allesch‑Taylor Fund. It screened at twenty‑four festivals worldwide, including BAFTA‑qualifying Norwich Film Festival, Oscar‑qualifying Edmonton Film Festival, and Inside Out LGBTQ+ Film Festival in Toronto. The film won three Best Short Film awards and received multiple nominations, including Best Screenplay, and was warmly received by both LGBTQ+ audiences and mainstream viewers.

Amy received support from the Irish Emigrant Support Fund through the Irish Embassy, GB to develop a stage play, Mammy’s House, inspired by the stories of Irish men during the AIDS crisis. The project is currently moving toward its first London production.

Her comedy pilot Coming of Age was a Second Rounder in the 2025 Austin Film Festival script competition. The series explores the trials and triumphs of women over forty as they navigate menopause, family upheaval and late‑blooming bisexuality.

Alongside her writing projects, Amy is a member of the Craft Services Network, a global community of emerging screenwriters and writer‑directors. She was also selected for the BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew programme in 2021.
