Hysum comes from a multicultural background, born to Indian parents in the Middle East, and now based in London. After spending over a decade writing and directing commercials, Hysum transitioned into screenwriting and earned an MA from the London Film Academy in 2023. Since then, he has been commissioned to write two international feature films, including one for Academy Award long-listed director Kamal Khan (Laal Kabootar).

Hysum’s work has been recognized in prestigious competitions like Screencraft and Final Draft’s Big Break. His romantic comedy feature script, BEARD, was a finalist in the Screencraft Comedy Competition, and his dark thriller #TheGoodTerrorist reached the quarter-finals of the Final Draft Big Break Competition.
