In 2023, Jordon released Suicide Kelly, his first feature-length film. Despite being shot on a microbudget of £10,000, the film won Best Picture and Best Director at the BAFTA accredited film festival British Urban. The film also provided opportunities for non-professional actors, with Bradford’s Freddy Smith long-listed for Breakthrough Performer at the BIFA awards in 2023, despite being only 12 years-old at the time of filming.

Jordon recently worked with Channel 4 on his semi-autobiographical short film Youthless. The film received a glowing endorsement from legendary screenwriter Jimmy McGovern, and shortly afterwards Youthless was optioned by Rollem Productions as a six-part returning series and he was signed to Imagine Talent.

Following Youthless, Jordon engaged with youth centres across Bradford on Blood’s Thicker. The play celebrated the city hosting Alfie Bradley’s ‘Knife Angel’ and was described by Bradford Council as ‘the most successful they have ever produced in terms of breaking down barriers with young people’. Following its release, the district saw an increase in knives handed into authorities and credited his play as a direct catalyst. He has now been commissioned to write a sequel and a film adaptation.

Jordon is very passionate about creating pathways and education for future filmmakers in the region. He recently supported acclaimed director Michael Winterbottom in the casting of his new film by connecting him with Polish people in the Bradford community. Jordon is also the Creative Lead at The Unit where he supports Channel 4, Screen Yorkshire and Bradford Council to further develop the screen sector in the Bradford district. In 2023 alone, Bradford saw a 180% increase in films made in the region exclusively through his work at The Unit.

In August 2023, Jordon’s inclusive production company Idle Work Factory opened its own SIGN-backed free film school to ensure filmmaking remains accessible to everyone in the North of England and was published as a best practice example for equality and diversity in the SIGN and XR Stories recruitment toolkit.

2024 has proved to be a very busy year for Jordon. He recently completed his first BFI film Dynamite Dealer. He also won both Bradford 2025’s Forge funding scheme and the Slick Film’s Grand Prize at Bolton Film Festival for his upcoming film Rocket Fuel, which will begin filming in March 2025.

Jordon also teaches Writing, Directing and Acting to aspiring filmmakers at MetFilm Leeds.
